League Awards

Starting with the 2005 season, The Board of Directors wanted to do something different at the end of the season. It was decided to hold a banquet in order to recognize each team, managers, coaches and players. Along with that, we wanted to add a little excitement by recognizing players based on their performance on the field.

All players are eligible for a League Award.  However, a player should not have been ejected from a game.  A player will be disqualified from League Awards if they are suspended from play.  Each award has it's own criteria.

The 2005 season introduced the Most Valuable Player Award, Rookie of the Year Award and President's "Sportsmanship" Award.

The 2006 season introduced the "Top Gun" Pitching Award and Batting Champion Award.

The Golden Glove award made it's debut in 2007 along with the All-Star Game MVP and League Championship MVP.

The 2008 Season brought a change to the Skills Competition with the introduction of 1st, 2nd and 3rd place medals.  Due to a decrease in participation, the Golden Glove award, All-Star Game and League Championship MVPs were eliminated.  The skills compition was dropped for the 2011 season.  With possible changes in the future, we hope to bring back these awards and skills compitition.
